Due to a sustained increase in work, a regional contractor has a created a new role for a Contracts Manager to join their South East London office.

As the Contracts Manager, you will be joining a company that has been established for over 15 years. They focus mainly on refurbishment schemes within the leisure, residential, education and commercial sectors. Typical projects are valued between £500,000 - £5m, and are located in South East London, Essex and surrounding areas.

Reporting to a Construction Director, who will provide mentorship, you will be responsible for up to 4 / 5 sites, the role will have the following duties;

- Liaise with site teams
- Programming with Microsoft Projects
- Compiling reports,
- Monitoring the H&S aspects of each project
- Liaising with the Clients Project Team
- Ensuring quality control
- Generating and updating the construction phase plans.
- Procurement of materials
- Pre-start meetings,
- Regular site progress meetings and handover meetings,

The position suit candidates looking for career progression from a Project Manager, ideally with a degree qualification or minimum of 5 years on site experience. More importantly, will be having the right attitude, drive and a willingness to learn in the role.

This leading main contractor is at the forefront of building technology development hubs and datacentres and they have a need to a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on one of their major projects in West London.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be based on the project full time and report into a project based Commercial Director. The value of the project is over £500m and this role is to work within a team of Quantity Surveyors at different levels of ability and experience.

The project which is in West London starts on site in spring 2024, and is currently at the preconstruction stage with a large team of Quantity Surveyors, Planners, Design Managers and Construction Managers pushing to get ready for the commencement date. Being a major project it will involve a full spectrum of construction methods including new build, refurbishment, fitout and infrastructure.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor for this role it is ESSENTIAL to have worked on either Industrial projects, datacentres or major science/technology projects. You will as Senior Quantity Surveyor have a UK Quantity Surveying qualification and must have been responsible for large packages on major construction projects for Tier 1 companies.
