Freelance Design Manager: Commercial Fit-Out
Location: Piccadilly
Start Date: End of April 2025 | Duration: 9-10 Months
This £25m, 2-phase project has circa 12 months remaining. Phase 1, Structures (demolition, structural works etc.) finishes in c2 months, and Phase 2 Commercial Fit-Out, is £9m in value and will last for around 9 -10 months.
There is a requirement for a Design Manager to ensure the seamless integration between the structural works and fit-out, and see through to completion.
Wish List:
·Design Manager who can go through the design and make sure the contractor can carry out the fit-out. Establish how the design works, get design in place etc. - so a good all-rounder.
·Strong understanding of commercial projects and main contracting processes.
·Proven experience as a Design Manager in main contracting (structural experience is not essential, however good design knowledge of the transition from structural to fit-out would be useful).
·Ability to assess designs from a practical standpoint, ensuring feasibility within project constraints.
·Proficiency in design management software and project management tools.

Project Manager - New Build Education (£30m Value)

Project Manager required to lead a £30m education facility in Cambridge. The scheme comprises a new vastly shaped 3-storey building built next to existing buildings which will be demolished in several phases allowing the school to remain occupied. Works also include new football pitches, parking spaces, MUGA, Playground canopy and Entrance Plaza (amongst other areas).

The company itself is a leading top building contractor that covers a range of projects mostly within the commercial, life sciences and education sectors - typical contract values between £30m - £70m.

·Project Manager (No1 on Site) experience on schemes upwards of £20m from start to completion
