A London contractor delivering a £15m educational and residential scheme is looking to appoint a Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team as the project moves toward completion.
This role is ideal for someone at the start of their QS career who wants exposure to a live London project and the chance to learn the commercial process from experienced surveyors.
You won’t be sitting in a back office doing theory.
You’ll be working alongside the site and commercial team, seeing how a real project is managed commercially from the inside.
The Projects
£15m purpose-built educational and residential facility in Golders Green.
The scheme includes demolition of existing structures and construction of a four-storey mixed-use educational building comprising:
- Basement dining facilities, kitchen and communal areas
• Ground floor prayer halls, study spaces, library and offices
• Upper floors providing student bedrooms and study rooms
• Landscaping and associated external works
Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor, responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with subcontractor procurement and tender comparisons
• Supporting valuations and payment processing
• Helping track variations and change management
• Maintaining commercial documentation and records
• Supporting cost reporting and commercial administration
• Learning how packages are managed through to final account
This is a hands-on learning role on a live project, giving real exposure to the commercial management of a scheme.
What they’re looking for
- Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor
• Construction degree or currently studying (or equivalent experience)
• Strong organisation and willingness to learn
• Interest in contractor-side project delivery
• Good communication and team attitude
The priority is someone motivated, reliable and keen to develop within a contractor environment.
The Business
A London contractor delivering residential and mixed-use schemes typically ranging from £5m–£15m.
They operate with a lean structure, meaning junior staff get real exposure to projects and senior decision makers, rather than being buried in large corporate teams.
You’ll be working directly with experienced surveyors and site teams while developing your commercial knowledge.
