I’m working with a growing principal contractor based in Cambridgeshire who are looking to strengthen their commercial team due to a strong pipeline of secured and pending work.
 
The business primarily delivers new build education projects for local authorities, whilst also growing within the self-storage and industrial sectors, alongside occasional refurbishment works.
 
They’re currently in the process of a Senior QS retiring, as well as securing several schemes.
 
The Role
• Commercial management across new build and refurbishment projects
• Procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, variations & final accounts
• Supporting projects from pre-construction through delivery
• Working closely with Directors and operational teams within a smaller contractor environment
• Opportunity to gain broad project exposure across multiple sectors
 
Projects
• Predominantly education projects for local authorities
• Increasing exposure to self-storage and industrial schemes
• Occasional refurbishment projects
• Project values ranging from £250k–£15m
• Average project size circa £4m
 
What they’re looking for
• Intermediate or Senior QS level considered
• Main contractor experience preferred
• Comfortable operating within a smaller, hands-on contractor environment
• Organised, commercially aware and delivery-focused
• Someone who enjoys broader involvement and visibility within a growing business
